    3. Ancestry shows three Ora Myers' deaths in Oregon...the one in 1940 is shown below. Name: Myers, Ora County: Washington Death Date: 24 Aug 1940 Certificate: 236 Spouse: Alice In Oregon, death certificates over 50 years ago are in the Archives in Salem. For an obit, I would suggest you go to your local library and ask them to order in on interlibrary loan, the August 1940 Portland Oregonian on microfilm. You might also want to check the Portland Journal as there were two papers in the city at that time. You can then search for his obituary and any other story about his death. Since he died relatively young, there may be more information there for you. Good luck with your research. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: MYERS, MIRES, MIERS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5cB.2ACI/588 Message Board Post: I am trying to locate a birth/death record of ORA JACOB MYERS who drove a taxi cab in Portland Oregon in 1938 and died there in 1940. I believe his last known address was on N. Sandy Blvd. His wife was Alice May ? Ora Jacob was my husband's uncle . Does anyone have an e-mail address for the Portland Oregonian newspaper ? Would they be likely to have obituary archives going back to 1940 ?
