Hello JoAnn: Personally, the easiest way for me to do a lookup in Hillsboro is to go to the main library bldg at Shute Park. There is a card index there that has been kept for many years on the Argus newspaper which lists by alpha index the people who were found in each edition of the paper. I think it's no longer being updated but it's a gold mine and very easy to use. When you find the index entry on the surname you're looking for, it will send you to the correct microfilm of the paper to copysthe obit or marriage or whatever.
