Hazlitt A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, in Forest View Cemetery in Forest Grove for Elwin D. Hazlitt, who died Jan. 5 at age 83. Mr. Hazlitt was born March 9, 1917, in Sarles, N.D., and moved to Forest Grove in 1920. He was a log truck driver as a young man, worked for the U.S. Forest Service in the 1950s and sold insurance from 1965 until retiring in 1982. In 1938, he married Lesta J. Pirie. Survivors include his wife; son, Michael S.; daughters, Janet Goodrich and Penny Sheldon; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His daughter Gail died in 1999. The family suggests remembrances to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, P.O. Box 17279, Baltimore, MD, 21297-0495. In 1938, she married Elwin D.; he died in 2001. Survivors include her son, Michael; daughters, Janet Goodrich and Penny Sheldon; sister, Doris Cavens; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Her daughter Gail died in 2000. Remembrances to the American Cancer Society.
