Subject: The search for Sarah L. "Visa" Darland or Darling continues Some months ago I posted a message "Searching for 2 Sarah Darlands". You were all extremely helpful. We believe my great Aunt Sarah died of typhoid at about the age of 12 and was buried on the family farm. At that time I did not have property information. Since that time I have established that my great grandfather George H. Darland registered for the 1870 census as a "country merchant" at Forest Grove and my cousin has located information in County Deed Books. My cousin has traced the property as far as the Index for Washington, OR Deed Books. My Family Property is listed in the 1882-1887 books Book S and Book Y with page numbers. Other family member property informatin is in earlier books. What is your recommendation on the best way to proceed at this time? Do I have enough information with the: County Date range grantor and grantee Book number and page number To have some one do a search for me? Would it be best to call Washington County or Salem?
