I am working on a McEldowney family also--- Sam was a child living in Washington co. Oregon in the 1880 census, married in Amity Oregon and moved to Wenatchee Wa. He died there in 1930. He was a camp cook for an unnamed timber company that traveled from Wisconsin to Washington State. The family had 10 children, was Catholic, and lived in Cornelius, Washington Co, OR between 1902-1920s. Mary is buried in Visitation Church Cemetery, as is her daughter Mabel Leona WHITE-WEICH-SMITH (1901-1966). I have information I can share. I've been working on this line for many years.

Tigardville, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock under the auspices of the Butte grange, of which he was a charter member. The grange was organized in 1874. Mr. Gustin was born in Greenlip County Kentucky, April 21, 1832 with his parents he crossed the plains to Oregon, reaching Portland in September 1853. After a year in the present Oregon metropolis, then but a small town he took up a claim at what is new Greenburg station, on the Oregon Electric railroad, in Washington County, where he had since made his home. In 1856 he was married to Miss Lucy Kilgore, a sister of John Kilgore of Portland, at that time one of his neighbors. Seven children were born of this union, two of whom service John Gustin and Mrs. C.L. (Annie) Rogers, both of Greenburg. In 1874, when Butte grange, Patrons of Husbandry, was organized, Mr. Gustin was one of the charter members.
