I have info that calls him Lloyd and some that calls him Floyd... can anyone confirm which? He was mentioned in This Bloody Deed , a book about a massacre on the Nez Perce trail. If anyone has access to this book, I would like a verbatim account of what is said about this Magruder who was killed He was married to Caroline Pelham Magruder, and they had a son John Carter Magruder. I am looking in particular for the children of John Carter Magruder's and Flora Edna Collins. John Carter and Flora Edna lived in Yakima, WA the children were Lydia Collins Magruder Breshears, married to Herman Bell Breshears who lived in WA state, John Magruder , Fred Magruder and Carrie Magruder Fieger or Fiegler who lived in OR state. In Flora Edna's obit for 1940, it mentions 5 grand children and 4 great grand children as surviving her, along with my ancestress, Mrs. Eva Collins Williams, who was Flora's sister, and who was my 2x great gramma. I am trying to determine the parents of SUSAN ACELIA VANDERHOOF, who was born in Michigan around 1860, married D. WINDOM in Yamhill Co., Oregon in 1875, and later married C. HENDRICKSON (no info on this marriage). I am pursuing a hunch that the parents may be Sarah E. CONVERSE (1841) & John VANDERHOOF (1834), from Pennsylvania and Michigan. This VANDERHOOF family may have come from Michigan to Oregon between 1865 and 1869, via Nebraska and Montana. They may at first have been in West Chehalem, Yamhill County (1870 Census), and then at some point may have moved on to Boring, Clackamas County (late 1880s). It is possible they may have been with other CONVERSE or VANDERHOOF family members. Possible children of Sarah E. Hello...I am new to the list....and...I am trying to find info on my HAWKINS line. I know that Cynthia A. Hughes HAWKINS died in Banks, OR in 1921.....according to her death certificate. She was in the ID/OR area from about the mid 1880's on til death....pension applications were filed in late 1890's and then again in 1903. The latter being for a widow's pension ....one was filed in OR and the other in ID....and I am not positive which was where....I believe that Cynthia's husband, Thomas D. HAWKINS must have died sometime shortly before the widow's pension app was made.... Death certificate informant was Cynthia's son, James H. HAWKINS. Anybody know anything about any of this???
