Our Peterson line was Heinrich Peterson a cousin of my Grandfathers and they both Homesteaded in the Green Mt area about 1893/95. He married a widow with 5 children about that time also. He is buried in the Buxton cemetery. Don't sound like there is any connection. I live in Sherwood. Happy hunting Barb

reply #2, After I sent you the first answer I went to my Mom's autobiography because I remembered there was another Peterson family that she had mentioned in Buxton. Charlie Peterson was the Postmaster and had a son named Harold, and daughters including Lura, Grace and Irene. She thought there was a 4th daughter. There was also a Daisy and she could have been the wife of Charlie but that wasn't clear. Daisy came to stay with my grandmother Etta while Hans went to get the doctor when my mother was being born. Harold became a chiropractor and moved to Vernonia. Hans Peterson became a Chiropractor in about 1910 or so. So are these your Peterson/Petersens? Jean Rotter "B. Thanks to all of you who have been helping me determine who was on the Asa McCully wagon train that left from Henry Co., Iowa in March 1853, and arrived in the Willamette Valley in early August 1853. I've been able to confirm a couple people, and rule out a whole bunch. The revised list of "possibles" is now up on my website at http://www.netcom.com/~symbios/asatrn.html I'd appreciate your looking over the list, and letting me know what you know about any of these people. They all apparently arrived in Oregon in late July or early August 1853. What I would particularly like to know is where they were coming from on their trip to Oregon, and who they were traveling with. Names known to have had certain associations with Washington County are: BULLOCK, GOODALL, McNEMAR/McNEMER, REED, and SHUCK. Thanks again for your past help, and any future ideas. All I have is Iva Beeman married a Clarke, a brickwall. Iva's father was from Washington and Polk Co., he really moved around a lot. They also lived in Multnomah Co and Umitilla co.
