You might try some of the local funeral homes..as they would have more records that far back.

Agnes Clark nee Tait died in Washington Co. on 26 June 1944. She was born in England in 1869 and prior to coming to Washington Co., lived with her twin brother, James E. Tait, in Linn Co. She is buried in the Shedd-Pugh Cemetery with her twin brother. Would be most appreciative if anyone has access to checking the local papers for an obituary for her. Jane Lancaster, PA
Dear Diane: I also have the news article (Hillsboro Argus) that says Lucy Brown died in Portland, and was buried in Cornelius. There the trail grows cold; there is no listing in the Cornelius Methodist Cemetery, the town cemetery; or in surrounding cemeteries including Hillsboro Pioneer and Forest View. there are no Dorien/Dorriens there either. And not in Riverview of Portland. In 1900 Census, as you probably have consulted she is living with James and Alma Dorien in Cornelius; Lucy is a widow, has borne two children only one living. So where is Georgiana... do you know a married name?? I do not find a marriage record for either in Washington County. It is possible that Alma was married in Ohio. Lucy's death certificate can be obtained from the Oregon State Archives; with the death date and place Multnomah County; it might show more detail. The news article is not the first that gives a piece of information that was not carried out by the family. I do not find a burial listing in the surrounding catholic and smaller town cemeteries in the northwest part of the county. Thank you so much for the info, I needed Fred's birth and death dates. I knew My great grandmother spelled her name several different ways in her life time but have never seen this spelling. Her first name is Maybelle, This is how many ways we have found her name. May, Mae, Mamie, Maybell, Maebell, Maybelle,.... now we can add Maebella. Goes to show one that in researching you can not over look anything! Thank you so much, Julie Thompson Miller >From: "Judith E.
