    3. Diane, I checked my master list of "Fir" section of Forest View Cemetery that I have completed and the only "BROWNS" I have photos for are Alice L.; Capt. Charles; Chester; & Florence L. That doesn't mean that your relatives may not be there, but currently, that is the only section I have completed thus far at Forest View. As for the name "DORRIEN" I have not com across that name yet. That again, does not mean that they are not at that cemetery. There is also another affiliate Cemetery in Forest Grove, Oregon called Mt. View. Have not had a chance to get up there either, but plan to one day. My husband has family members buried up there. I checked all the other Cemeteries that I have photos on which would be, Scotch Church Cem., Blooming Cem., Rafferty Cem., & Fern Hill Cem. Good Luck! Horace Bentley Dorrien died January 17,1919 James Thomas Dorrien died 13,1921 It has been difficult to find them and when I do I have the feeling that they may all be together since they moved to Cornelius between 1886-1890 by 1900 they were living in Portland and in 1907 they moved to Raymond Washington. 1. Re: [WASHINGTON] Information on obtaining an obituary
    2. You will probably be able to find your obituary in The Oregonian newspaper, but may find a more detailed obituary in a local community newspaper. One good place to find a Clackamas county obituary is the Lake Oswego Library. You can find directions to the library and times that they are open at: http://www.ci.oswego.or.us/library/policy/default.htm You can find more detail about their genealogy assistance at: http://www.ci.oswego.or.us/library/special/genealogy.htm You may want to contact the libary in the Clackamas County community where the individual resided also. Information about other Clackamas County libraries can be reached from: http://www.lincc.lib.or.us/ Anne

Boos, Mrs. Josephine Fleischhauer of Gaston contributed a small picture (1915). George Boos of Milwaukie is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Boos. He was reared by them at the old Quarry site and has given Pacific University the family photographs for historical purposes." Pacific University, 2043 College Way, Forest Grove, Oregon 97116 503-357-6151 www.pacific.edu Another local resident says: The stone for Marsh Hall on the Campus of Pacific University came from the Boos Quarry. Sandstone, same as used in the Pioneer Post Office Building in Portland, OR (6th and Alder). An elderly former resident is living at a retirement home in Forest Grove; and is possibly a source of more material. I will supply that if you contact me privately. 3. I have noted in the early newspaper of Forest Grove "That the Boos Quarry was making grave stones of first rate..." I did not find it just now. In Forest View Cemetery, Lot 67 are: Andrew Boos 1850 - 1931 Anna T 1854-1942 along with J. George 1852-1953 John Boos died 18 May 1928 These death occurred in a period in which I do not have obits copied. However this does not tell you much about the Quarry, or its location. It would take some research. I would venture that the Boos family of the quarry is different than the Boose mentioned in Hazel Boose Wood obit.
