William Michael Morris died in Portland, Washington County, Oregon on Jan. 08, 2004. My relative was born on Mar.29,1937 and this person was born on Mar.30, 1937. Shute park is in Hillsboro. Right next to the park is Hillsboro Library, then across the street is the swimming pool (currently being remodeled). There is a community center of some sort over in that area as well. I do not know its current name. Hello JoAnn: Personally, the easiest way for me to do a lookup in Hillsboro is to go to the main library bldg at Shute Park. There is a card index there that has been kept for many years on the Argus newspaper which lists by alpha index the people who were found in each edition of the paper. I think it's no longer being updated but it's a gold mine and very easy to use. When you find the index entry on the surname you're looking for, it will send you to the correct microfilm of the paper to copysthe obit or marriage or whatever. Regarding obituaries - do you know if your library has an Inter-Library Loan service available? Some charge a nominal fee, but will either do the look up (with specific date) or send material to your library for you to do the research.
