    3. Regarding the location of the Buxton Cemetery. It is near the area of Buxton on Hwy 26 and there is a sign near the exit. It is about 17 miles north of Forest Grove. When I was there in 2005 it was well taken care of, and I easily found the stone of a great-grandfather who was in the Civil War, which was not easy to locate in past years. bjfritts@smt-net.com ----- Original Message ----- From: <orwashin-request@rootsweb.com> To: <orwashin@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, June 11, 2007 12:01 AM Subject: ORWASHIN Digest, Vol 2, Issue 35 > > > Today's Topics: > > 1. Author: esewa1251 Surnames: MORGAN, WARREN, WILNER Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.oregon.counties.washington/1326/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to locate the death record for Franklin (Frank) P. (Pierce) Morgan, b. about 1859, m. about 1881 Lavina Isabella (?). Franklin was born in (Nixburg) Alabama, Lavinia in Texas. I found them in the 1900 Census living in Hillsboro, Washington County, showing him as working for a Icalee (?) Furniture company. Lavinia was a widow in the 1920 Census, living in Corvallis. I believe she died after 1930, probably in the Industrial Home for the Blind in Alameda, CA., close to where their son Milton P. was living in Sacramento working @ the State Printing office (according to the 1930 Census). I believe Franklin came to Haskell County, TX, from Alabama about 1866. The family story indicates he came about the same time as his mother (name uncertain) and brothers James Thomas (my ggrfather), John William and possibly Eugene Hilliard. James Thomas (J.T.) and John William (J.W.) supposedly went to Comanche County Texas, while Franklin was in "college" in Haskell County. J.T. and J.W. were "freighters" in West Texas, delivering goods between Ft. Worth, TX and Comanche, Menard, Ballinger, San Saba and Sonora. I have information that says Eugene Hilliard became a physician. The children of Franklin Pierce and Lavinia Isabella were: Milton P(ierce) b. 1881 (TX)m. Margaret Warren and Bess Wilner; Charles b. 1884; Otto Grady b. ?; Grace b. 1895. I have many interesting "Wild West" stories from the Morgan family memoirs. I would love to correspond with any one in this family line. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. This family was originally out of NY, then PA, then some went to Illinois. An Eliza Engelhaupt was the second wife of my 4th Great Grandfather. Many of the families are related to each other. See if you can check out the 1930 census in the area that your father lived and see if any Englehaupts were in the area, this may help you go back or help you figure out who is mother might have been.
