Ball Larry L. Ball, 63, died Aug. 5, 2007 at home in Sherwood. Larry was born July 1, 1944 in Yakima, Wash. His family moved to Oregon and settled in Salem for his senior year of high school, where he graduated from Nort Salem High School in 1962. Larry then attended Salem Technical Vocation Community College, later named Chemeketa Community College, for electronic technology. He started out a volunteer firefighter for North Marion Fire District while working for ADT Security Systems for three years, he then worked 11 years for Tualatin Fire District (now TVFR) as a firefighter, engineer, acting lieutenant and communication technician, before returning to ADT in 1982 as an area supervisor and customer relations representative. He left ADT in July 1994 to be his own boss doing handyman work in the Newberg/Dundee area for four years before moving to Waldport and opening a small shop and working for Bayshore Vacation Rentals. He moved back to the Sherwood area in 2004 where he has lived for the last three years. Survivors included his daughter Katrina Ball of Dundee; son David Ball of Salem; sister Darlene Osman of Selah, Wash.; brother Bill Ball of Eagle, Idaho; grandsons Blake Ball and Kyle Tompkins; and his life partner of 13 years, Vicky Churchill of Sherwood. A gathering will be held at 2 pm, Sunday, Aug. 26, 2007 at the home of Glen and Susan Kelly, 990 Highland Circle, Waldport. Contributions can be made to the Larry Ball Memorial at the Courageous Kids Hospice of Sacred Heart, SHMC Foundation, P.O. Box 10905, Eugene OR, 97440. The info on railroads was before your grandfather's time. However, there is information about a WILLIAM UNDERWOOD BORN IN England in 1830. He was a carpenter (firm of Kelly & Underwood) and marrried in 1865 Miss C. E. Evans, by whom he had four children - Elenor, William, Margaret and GEORGE G. Perhaps these would be his parents?
