I am wondering if you have been to the Elwood Cemetery. My mother taught school there in the 1940's and I have received some history from another lady who taught school there also. She sent me an older reading of the cemetery and it includes the following: Cadonau, Mr. Morris, Sr.: Jan. 1842 - 7 Apr. 1901 Cadonau, Mrs. Morris, Sr.: (Martha) 24 May 1856 - 20 Aug. 1926 Cadonau, Morris, Jr.: Oct 1874 - 18 Mar. 1942 Cadonau, Feaster: 3 Aug. 1875 - 12 Aug. 1943 Cadonau, Henry: 13 Sept. 1880 - 30 Nov. 1955 Their place is mentioned in the following paragraph of her history: "Mr. and Mrs. Almon Shibley crossed the plains by wagon train in 1863, and settled at Howell Prairie near Salem where they lived for eight years before coming to Elwood. They took up a homestead here which included what is known as the Cadonau place...." He was born in 1960. Approximate year of her death would have been 1965. He believes she passed away in Multnomah County but they could have lived in Washington County. There were two sons - Jimmie Jo and Jeffrey Lee. His understanding is that their father gave them both up for adoption. He believes mothers name was 'Alice' or something similar to that and that she might have worked as a waitress. We would love to hear from anyone with any information no matter how insignificant the information seems. We don't have much to go on and would really appreciate some help.

Cyndi, I don't know if this might be your Marie or not, Marie Hansine Krohn died June 21, 1929 Yamhill co. Newberg is in Yamhill co. As a teacher she would not have paid into SS and of course this is before SS was created. You might write to the Oregon Board of Education and see if they have any record of her. clara On 23 Feb 2002 00:49:22 -0700 GYPSIE1910@yahoo.com writes: > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/5cB.2ACI/241.292 > > Message Board Post: > > I AM LOOKING FOR ANY INFORMATION ON A MARIE KROHN .
