    3. Hey, out there! A couple of situations have arisen that I thought it might be good to cover (briefly, I promise) in a post to the list. Please read on... First, if any of you may have attempted to email me in the past couple of weeks and received a bounce from my server, I apologize profusely. I really was here, but my server's brain was impaired. This was just your standard, run-of-the-mill server problem & nothing more, but for some reason it took several days for it to become apparent. Thus it took several days before it was fixed. As near as we can tell at this time, everything is back in working order. Again, I apologize if you received a bounce notice. Rest assured, I will never just disappear. If it seems that I do, it is merely an email glitch. Next issue is our new website. If you have taken the time during this busy holiday season to have a quick visit, thank you. You may have noticed that my original projections for getting things posted were, shall we say, a bit hasty. A couple of things have taken place on the home front here that have made it difficult to find time for transcribing and uploading data. My daughter's surgery was much more extensive than we had originally thought, and the associated doctor visits etc have taken quite a chunk out of my time, but I'm making headway again. Ta Dahhh.... We now have a full-fledged site up & running. I've found a few buggy places that I need to tweak & will be fixing those as soon as I can, but most things are working. Please do go give it a look in the next few days and let me know what other ideas you might have. I have some other "Stuff" to post to the site as I get a chance to format it, so don't despair if you don't find what you want just yet. Once the initial site setup has been taken care of, I will start posting a notice to the list whenever we add new goodies to the site. I can say this much: I know that some of the surnames the listmembers are searching already have data posted at the site. So go give it a look! There is a Search utility on the main page which will allow you to search the entire site, and there will soon be a master archive listing on-site as well. I think (at least I *hope*) that when you see what types of things I have uploaded to the site, you will realize how many things you have in your own files that would be worth posting there for the benefit of others. I have some larger-scale projects in the works that will take a while to complete before posting, but most of what is there is either my own compilation of the many documents I've learned from along the way, or it is simply a transcription of a document from my own files (biographies, obits, etc.). There are probably several things in your own files in this last category that would be terrific to be able to post at our site. It would involve little effort on your part -- I can even transcribe them if you don't feel you have the time -- and it would help our site tremendously. I hope you'll consider contributing to our archives. The more information we have at our site, the more people it will attract. The more people we attract to the site, the more people will join this list. As our numbers on this list grow, so will our knowledge of our ancestors. Oh, and don't forget to check out the "links" page at the site. Here's the URL, in case you didn't get it bookmarked when I posted it previously: http://www.historysavers.com/orwasco/ Thanks for reading, and happy holidays to all of you... -- Cheri puny@mail.com --->>>^<<<--- Freebies for Gen.
