Herb and Marie (Jarrett) Lacock celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a Family dinner July 12, at Ruths Chris Steak House in Portland, hosted by their children. A reception followed in the Presidential Suite at The Benson Hotel, continued by a Sunday Brunch the following day at the London Grill. They were married July 11, 1953 in Greensboro, North Carolina, by the Reverend Thurmond Bowers. The Brides sister Betty Long and brother Earl Jarrett were in Attendance. He is an electrician, retiring in 1995 and she worked at Jantzen, Inc. retiring In 1985. They have lived in this area for 41 years after living in Greensboro, And Moses Lake, Washington. They are members of First Christian Church and Belong to the Bible study group there. They have four children, Allen, Chuck and His wife Julie, Susan Harjo, all of The Dalles, and Pam Strickling and her Husband Don, Orting, Washington. The Dalles Chronicle August 17, 2003.
