On October 11, 2003, Isidro and Juanita Saldivar celebrated their 50th wedding Anniversary. They were married October 11, 1953 in Harlingen, Texas. They moved To Kennewick, Washington in 1956 before moving to The Dalles in 1959. Mr. Saldivar worked and retired from Martin Marietta/Northwest Aluminum. Mrs. Saldivar worked and retired from Oregon Cherry Growers and School District #12. For their anniversary celebration the SaldivarÂ’s were treated to a cruise aboard The Portland Spirit cruise liner by their children and family. More than 40 Family members attended. They traveled to the cruise liner by limousine after a Church service in Vancouver, Washington, where they were blessed by Fr. Hans Olsen. A wonderful time was had by all. The Salidvars raised five children; Isidro Jr., (Jay) and Shelly, Vancouver, Gene and Julie, The Dalles, Deborah and Greg Lewis (Andy, Rick and Dee, The Dalles), Robert (Bob) and Diane, Tigard, Oregon. They have 14 grand children and Two great-grand children. An open house to fellowship with friends and acquaintances in The Dalles will be Held at St. PeterÂ’s parish center on November 2, 2003 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Fireside Room. No gifts please.
