Surnames: Shepard, Schmoker, Ross Standish L. Stan Shepard, 76, died November 8, 2003 at his home in Tygh Valley, [Oregon]. He was born April 20, 1933 in Oregon City [Oregon] to Maynard and Ruth (Schmoker) Shepard and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked as a machinist, served as a police officer, and worked at All-Star Rafting in Maupin [Oregon]. He retired in 1996 and moved to Tygh Valley, Where he built his own home. He loved the outdoors, and fishing and golfing With his family and friends filled most of his days. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Nola, Tygh Valley; a daughter Debra Ross, a son David Shepard, and grandchildren, Mike and Chris Ross, Tyler and Kaci Shepard. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 16, at Saint Marys Catholic Church in Maupin.
