Surnames: Gordon, Pike, Neely, May Jessie Gordon, 91, a former resident of The Dalles, died on October 23, 2003 In Garibalda [Oregon]. She was born September 7, 1912 to Irwin and Nelly Pike in The Dalles. She was The third of five children. She completed grade and high school in Grass Valley [Oregon] and attended bookkeeping/secretarial school in Portland and Eugene [Oregon]. She married, moved to Hermiston and later divorced. She married Lester Gordon And the family moved to Pilot Rock [Oregon]. He died in 1962. She worked at Pendleton Auto Parts, then moved to Hermiston where she worked For the Oregon State University Experimental Station for 15 years. She retired In 1979 and moved to The Dalles. In 1999 she moved to Garibaldi. Survivors include her son Irwin and daughter-in-law, Jan, Garibaldi; a sister, Veri May, Kennewick, Washington; a step-son, Clyde Gordon, Wasilla, Alaska; A stepdaughter, Grace Neely, Ashland [Oregon]; five grandchildren and many Great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in The Dalles. A private inurnment of ashes will take place at Olney Cemetery in Pendleton [Oregon]. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Episcopal Church Memorial Fund. Arrangements are under the care of Waud’s Funeral Home, 1414 Third Street, Tillamook, Oregon 97141.
