Richard and Edith (Logan) Pontow will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary August 22, 2003. They marked the occasion in June with a trip with family members on board a ship for a cruise along the Inland Passage of the Alaskan coast. There was also a family reunion celebration August 16 at a Thousand Trails resort, which is located close to Chehalis, Washington. They have three sons, Richard Jr., Donald and Andrew, and one daughter, Susan. They also have 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He worked for over 25 years in the aluminum plant here in The Dalles, retiring In May, 1985. Since his retirement they have traveled extensively within the United States and Canada having visited over 23 of the states. They decided they liked The Dalles, Oregon best.
