    3. G.A.R. and AMERICAN LEGION CEMETERY and MEMORIAL GROUNDS RULES & REGULATIONS FOR BURIALS Handwritten notes written by William H. McNeal in book located in Wasco County Courthouse vault. [No date on material] 1. Any Vetran [sic] of any War may be given burial space in this cemetery free of charge, provided relatives furnish the following information: Name, Date and place of Birth, Occupation. Date & Place of enlistment, Date & Place of Discharge. Rating and organization Vetran belonged to. And provided a fee of $25 is paid to the Cemetery Endowment Fund for the perpetual upkeep of the grave. This fee is figured on the basis of $200 for a full lot. $100 for a half lot. $50 for a quarter lot (room for 2 graves) or $25 per grave, and will forever pay for the care of part paid for. 2. Wives of any Vetran are entitled to burial in this cemetery also, provided the above fee of $50 for a quarter lot (room for 2) is paid the Cemetery endowment Fund, before burial. This is demanded to insure that upkeep will be paid for, for 2 graves ( Œ lot). 3. Minor children of Vetrans may be buried in this cemetery provided $50 for perpetual upkeep, on 2 lots, is paid for in advance of burial. This $50 also insures perpetual upkeep for 2 graves (1/4 lot), which allows room for 1 more burial free of the upkeep charge. 4. A seeding charge of $20 for a full lot, $10 for a half lot, $5 for a quarter lot is charged to buy seed and fertilize the ground well for a good turf. This must also be paid in addition to the endowment fund which would make a full lot $220, œ lot $110, Œ lot $55.00. 5. No deeds are given for lots in this cemetery. The state endowment (law?) [water damage] protects those that are buried under endowment protection. The law permits no removals of bodies without transfer of endowment protection. Trustees: Wm H.
