    3. Hi folks, We've been gathering new members lately like I can't believe, so I thought maybe we ought to try re-introducing ourselves and doing a little Roll Call type of thing. The list is still small enough that a Roll Call won't be too burdensome, and I think it might help us all to see who is researching whom from which area. Wasco county is a pretty big county geographically, so it wouldn't hurt to give some general idea of where the location really is that you're referring to. Also, many of the towns that were there 100 years ago are no longer thriving towns, so some don't even show on the map. Now, I want you to know that I'm not exaggerating when I say the list has really grown. Just to give you an idea of how much it has grown, let me say that it has more than tripled in size in the past two months. Yup, that's right -- tripled! I'm so pleased that folks are finding the list now. I can honestly say that now the list has finally reached the size that will make it easier for us to help eachother -- which is what we're here for, right? And the site is growing, getting LOTS of traffic now, especially compared to what I had expected, and we're working feverishly to get more data online. I'm staring right now at a huge stack of goodies that I'm getting transcribed for the site. It's GREAT! If any of you have any photos of family members, homesteads in Wasco County, or even real general stuff (an old building that you don't know the exact location of, or ??), please consider letting me get it scanned & up on the web. I'm also working on some great photo pages for the site right now. I think you'll enjoy them. And please, if you have obituaries, stories or anything like that about your Wasco Co ancestors, let me know if you'd be willing to share them on the website. The more stuff we post, the more we help others and we also help our own causes in the process. Anybody out there ready to help with transcribing (typing) stuff for the site? Any volunteers out there to help with some tombston reading when the weather is warmer? Let me know! If not, that's okay too, but we sure could use your contributions to the data we're accumulating. If you could just dig out an old obituary or three from your files on Wasco Co ancestors, that would be fantastic! :-) I'll post my ancestor info for the Roll Call in my next email. This one is just "official business." Take care, all... -- Cheri puny@mail.com --->>>^<<<--- Wasco Co., OR GenWeb site--> http://www.historysavers.com/orwasco/
