Surnames: Iverson, Goble, Fraley, Nickolson, Moyer, Wheeler, Alman, Root Donald Gustava Iverson, 91, Tygh Valley [Oregon], died at the local hospital On Wednesday, October 1, 2003. He was born October 14, 1911, in Riverton, Nebraska, the third of eight children To Pete and Mary (Goble) Iverson. He moved to the southern Wasco County area in the late 1920s and worked in Maupin [Oregon] at a service garage. He also worked as a bridge watcher prior to World War II and served in the Army during that war. Mr. Iverson married Alma Fraley April 6, 1940, in White Salmon [Washington]. After the war, they settled in Tygh Valley and he worked at the mill until the Late 1950s. He started with the Oregon State Highway Department in 1962, Retiring in the mid 1970s. He enjoyed various outdoor activities including gardening, hunting and fishing. He is survived by his son, Gareld L. and his wife, Sandra Iverson, Maupin; Six grandchildren, Kenneth E. Nickolson; Martha Ann Moyer; Pam Ann Wheeler; Katrina Ann Alman; Darrin Allen Iverson; Ann Marie Iverson; numerous great- Great and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hattie Root, The Dalles; Elsie Fraley, St. Helens, Oregon; two brothers, Bernard Iverson; Merlyn Iverson, Both of Wamic [Oregon] and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing visitation will be Sunday, October 5, from 2 to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 to noon at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery on Threemile Road Monday, October 6, 2003, at 1 p.m. with Asa Jenson officiating.
