The Dalles Daily Chronicle, Wednesday, March 29, 1899 WAYSIDE GLEANINGS page three Yesterday afternoon Mr. Evans, father of Si Evans, of 3-Mile, died at the Residence of his son on 3-Mile. Last summer Mr. Evans came to this place >From the sound [Puget Sound, Washington?] to visit his son, with whom he Has since made his home. About a month ago he was taken with la grippe, and Seeming to be unable to take nourishment enough to support him, he finally Succumbed to the disease. The funeral took place from the Calvary Baptist Church this afternoon at 1 oclock and the interment was make [sic] in the city cemetery.
