Surnames: Davis, Nash, Veith Robert (Bob) Dale Davis, 74, a resident of Sportsmans Park [Oregon], died in a Portland Care Center on September 17, 2003. He had been diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) several months ago. He was born in Ft. Dodge, Iowa on December 29, 1928. He and his wife, Joan, were married on August 13, 1956. He taught school in Iowa for seven years. They moved to Oregon in 1962 where he worked for Gates Rubber Company for 23 years and then retired to Sportsmans Park [Maupin] in 1985. He was an Army veteran and was also service officer for both the VFW and the American Legion for many years. He was an avid hunter, hiker and fisherman. Survivors include four children, Carol Nash, Gresham [Oregon]; Karen Veith, Portland; Jeff Davis, New York; and Laurie Davis, Portland; and six grand- Children. Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 135, c/o Bruce Hembling, P.O. Box 645, Wamic, Oregon 97063.
