Surnames: Peterson, Mitchell, Knowles, Mason, Burke, Eugene, Horn, Jungenburg, Wisner Odessie Faye Peterson, 79, a long-time resident of Wamic [Oregon] died September 23, 2003 after a long battle with cancer. She was born in October 6, 1929 in Osceola, Missouri. In 1955 she married Carl Peterson. She was active in many projects in Wamic and Wasco County and was a member of The American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Barlow Gate Grange, Senior Potlatch, Barlow Trail Garden Club and Wamic Historical Society. She also served As a board member of the Wamic church and drove the Senior Bus. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Carl Peterson; daughters Susan Mitchell, Alice Knowles and Samantha Mason, stepdaughter Elaine Burke and Stepsons Dean Peterson and Tom Peterson; sister Lula Eugene, Twila Horn and Sandra Jungenburg; brother Lawrence Wisner; numerous grandchildren, great- Grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at the Barlow Gate Grange on Saturday, October 4 At 1 p.m. with a potluck to follow.
