Surnames: Gardner, Shoemaker, Titus, Menzel, Uhalde, Voss Udena Marie Gardner, 74, a longtime resident of The Dalles and Dufur [Oregon], Died at the local hospital following a sudden illness on Monday, September 29, 2003. She was born February 27, 1929, in Snoqualmie Falls, Washington, the youngest Of three children to John and Udena Marie (Shoemaker) Titus. She was raised and Attended schools in the Seattle [Washington] area. She and her husband, Jean Uhalde moved to Dufur in the early 1960s. She later Married Robert L. Gardner in 1976, and they moved to The Dalles in 1977. After his retirement, they moved to Maryhill [Washington] and back to The Dalles In 2000. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge in Dufur and enjoyed her family, bowling, and Life. She is survived by her husband Robert Gardner, The Dalles; daughters, Terri and Her husband, Ed Menzel, Pacific, Washington; Sandy Uhalde, Portland; sons, Mike Voss, Auburn, Washington; Don Uhalde and his wife, Carmagene, Dufur; Steve Uhalde and his wife Kathy, The Dalles; stepsons, Robert and James Gardner, both Of Maryhill; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Don, and a son, Terry, in 1982. Viewing visitation will be held at Spencer, Libby and Powell Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, from 2 to 7 p.m. and on Thursday, from 9 to 12:00 noon. Graveside services will be held at The Dalles Odd Fellows Cemetery on Cherry Heights Road on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 1 p.m. Asa Jenson will be Officiating.
