Surnames: Kortge, Stein, Young, Brown, Morris Hazel Kortge, 89, a former resident of The Dalles, died at a health care center In Powell, Wyoming on September 27, 2003. She was born February 21, 1914 to Paul and Nettie Stein in The Dalles. She was a Graduate of The Dalles General Hospital School of Nursing. She married Paul Kortge in August 1936. During World War II, she worked as a Registered nurse at The Dalles hospital whenever needed. For 20 years she and her husband operated a ranch south of Dufur [Oregon]. They Then lived in Salem [Oregon] before moving to Powell in fall 2001. She is survived by her husband of 67 years; two daughters, Donna (William) Young, Palmdale, California; and Kathleen (George) Brown, St. George, Utah; a Son, Lloyd (Elsa) Kortge, Powell; a sister, Pauline Morris, Salem; six Grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in Powell on October 5. Memorials may be made To the Jerry Walker DePriest Memorial Endowment Fund, P.O.
