I've been slowly researching (spare time) the families of Angelique Longtain and Francois Toupin. Both families Hudson's Bay employees. Angelique, son Jean Baptiste "James" Toupin and daughter Marie Toupin Staats settled at Dufur, (15 Mile) before 1880 and after 1871. Marie Staats and husband John and a daughter Lucy are buried at St. Peter's Cemetery, The Dalles, OR. William Staats married Arabelle Dufur Slusher in 1899. Several children of both of these Toupin decendants should be around The Dalles and Dufur and maybe Yakima.
