Handwritten date of April 23, 1942 - title "No. 1 Pioneer" WITH PICTURE Thought to be the number one pioneer of Wasco county is D.L. "Lee" Bolton of 922 East Seventh street, The Dalles, shown above. Born in Lane county, Oregon, on December 21, 1854, he came to Wasco county in 1858 and has been a continous resident of this county for 84 years. Mr. Bolton still is active and is planning an eventful day at the 21st annual reunion of the Wasco County Pioneer's association, to be held in the civic auditorium, The Dalles, on Saturday May 2.
