During World War II, she worked as a Registered nurse at The Dalles hospital whenever needed. For 20 years she and her husband operated a ranch south of Dufur [Oregon]. They Then lived in Salem [Oregon] before moving to Powell in fall 2001. She is survived by her husband of 67 years; two daughters, Donna (William) Young, Palmdale, California; and Kathleen (George) Brown, St. George, Utah; a Son, Lloyd (Elsa) Kortge, Powell; a sister, Pauline Morris, Salem; six Grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. At the time of her departure from This earthly place to heaven, she was residing at home surrounded by family and Friends. She was born on April 13, 1927, in Boyceville, Wisconsin, one of three children To Frank and Ella Myers. She grew up in Glendale, Wisconsin where she graduated >From St. Clare High School in 1945. She met her first husband, Al Rinke in Moorehead, Minnesota and married him January 14, 1946. They had two children: Sherry and Terry. Vivian was very Active in the growing years of her children. In particular, she was very Involved in all sports including baseball, basketball and football. In August 39, 1976 her husband died, and Vivian was left to care for the family On her own. In 1982 Romeo Bonnette entered her life. They met at a church retreat in Washougal, Washington. After many months of friendship in a shared belief in Jesus their Lord, they became man and wife on December 31, 1983. She was a homemaker, business woman, and community advocate for most of her life. Most importantly, she was called friend by many. One of the things that brought her great joy was travel to visit friends that had been made over the years. During the last years, Vivian was very active in supporting her church through Outreach activities to friends in the community. She was a Christian and loved The Lord with a depth of faith that everyone could see. She enjoyed going to church every Sunday at the Covenant Christian Community. She is survived by her husband Romeo; son Terry Rinke of Leavenworth, Washington; her daughter Sherry Shoble of Portage, Indiana; her stepsons, Kenneth, Kevin, and Kurt Bonnette; her stepdaughter Pamela Hamilton. She is Survived by her two sisters, Eloise and Joyce. She is also survived by seven Grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, at Covenant Christian Community, 2630 East 18th Street, with Pastor David Clear Officiating. She was born April 22, 1920 in Dufur, the younger of two children to George and Ruby (Dufur) Gill. She was raised in Dufur, graduated from Dufur High School, and Then attended The Dalles School of Nursing. She joined the U.S. Army Nursing Cadets and worked in a New York City hospital taking care of injured soldiers. She returned to Oregon and married Charles Howard Larie in Dufur, August 18, 1946. She worked at Providence Hospital as head surgical nurse and later was the school nurse at Centennial, Barlow and Gresham {Oregon] High Schools. During the mid-1970s, the family returned to Dufur and she worked as Director Of Nurses at Columbia Basin Nursing Home. In 2000, Kathyleen and Harriettes Century Farm, became a Bed and Breakfast operated by Harriettes sons, Chuck And Bill Moe. Kathyleen returned to Portland with her sister to live at Cherry Wood Village Retirement Home. She was a member of Dufur Methodist Church, Ramsey Park Grange and the Wally Barnium Air Stream Club and enjoyed traveling. Kathyleen is survived by three children, Mary Ann Place and her husband, David, Ronald George Larie, Richard Alan Larie, all of Portland; three grandchildren, Candice, Steven, Jennifer; two great-grandchildren, her sister, Harriette Moe, Portland, and her two cats, Sam and Shadow. Funeral services will be held at Smith Callaway Chapel on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Jerry Holland and Asa Jenson officiating. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1961 with a degree in electrical Engineering and earned a masters degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. In 1977 he married Barbara Corey of The Dalles. As an aerospace engineer, he had been employed at Lockheed Missiles and Space, Working at the headquarters in Sunnyvale, California and for Sperry Gyroscope As a field engineer in the U.S. and overseas locations including Africa and England. He was a test engineer and supervisor for the NASA Agena and Gemini space Programs. After 26 years with Lockheed, he retired in 1987. He and his wife returned to Oregon, where they lived for 6 œ years before Going back to California for two years. They returned to Oregon in 1999. He enjoyed backpacking in the Sierra Mountains and golf. In addition to his wife, Portland; survivors include sons Dane, Denton, North Carolina; William Corey McCammon, Dallas [Oregon]; Brian Bowman, Hillsboro [Oregon]; daughters, Jill Mitchell, Eldorado, California, and Dawn Scott, Dallas; brother, John (Jack) Bowen, The Dalles; sister, Mary Holmes, Portland; 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was Preceded in death by a son, Scott.
