    3. Shelley, I don't know if this information is something Bob would want. He died on September 6 after 12 years of cancer. He was a good man, a Godly man and will be missed mightily. I don't know who to direct your email to as I didn't get involved in the detective work of his genealogy pursuits. I do hope you get some responses. Keep up the good work. It is a worthy cause. I am hoping someone in our family will resume the research in the future. ...jerri saunders.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shelley Cardiel" <cardiels@comcast.net> To: <ORWASCO@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 07, 2012 11:03 AM Subject: [ORWASCO] ERSKINE Family Photographs > I've "rescued" a group of three photographs belonging to the ERSKINE > Family > of Oregon and Washington. 1. [ORWASCO] ERSKINE Family Photographs
    2. Shelley Cardiel
    3. I've "rescued" a group of three photographs belonging to the ERSKINE Family of Oregon and Washington. The three photographs are as follows: 1 - Grandpapa ERSKINE taken at the Thwaites Studio in Portland, dated 1891 - believe this is Abiel ERSKINE - photo is addressed "To Gracie" 2 - Harriet ERSKINE taken at same studio - 1890's - woman in her 50's or 60's 3 - Hattie ERSKINE WILLIAMS taken at the Imperial Studio in Seattle, WA - 1880's or 1890's, woman in her 20's - note on back "Granddaughter of Mrs. Jane ERSKINE of Palermo, Maine and daughter of Abiel ERSKINE and H. J. ERSKINE of Erskineville, Oregon". Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this family and those pictured in the photographs: Abiel ERSKINE was b. 25 Jun 1828 in Palermo, Maine to parents Abiel or Abial Wood ERSKINE (b. 9 May 1806 in Palermo, ME) and Jane Weeks RUST (b. 16 Aug 1807 in ME). Abiel was one of nine children born to this couple including, James; Abiel; Sarah Jane; Mary Elizabeth; Stillman W.; Emily; Mary J.; Lucy Ann; and Joseph ERSKINE, all born between 1826 and 1841, his sister Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" was b. 23 Feb 1833 in China, ME. Abiel married Harriet Jane RUST (b. 10 May 1839 in Palermo, ME) on 2 Nov 1856 and together they had 6 children including, Ella Augusta; Anna Jane; George McLellan; Abiel Grant; Hattie Elida; and Mabel Melluah ERSKINE, all born between 1859 and 1878. Their daughter Hattie Elida ERSKINE was b. 25 Jun 1866 in Douglas City, California. Abiel died 17 Sept 1911 in Seattle, Washington and is buried in the Lake View Cemetery in Seattle. Abiel's wife Harriet Jane RUST ERSKINE died in 1909 in Seattle, WA. Hattie Elida ERSKINE was b. 25 Jun 1866 in Douglas City, California to parents Abiel ERSKINE (b. 25 Jun 1828 in Palermo, ME) and Harriet Jane RUST (b. 10 May 1839 in Palermo, ME). Hattie married George Ellsworth WILLIAMS (b. 10 Oct 1864 in Polk City, IA - d.1941) on 23 Dec 1888 and together they had a daughter, Grace Melluah WILLIAMS b. 9 Oct 1890 or 1899 in Womic, Oregon. Hattie ERSKINE WILLIAMS died 26 Nov 1910 in Seattle, Washington and is buried in the Lake View Cemetery in Seattle. Their daughter Grace died in 1981. Census records provide the following details: 1900 census or Moro City, Oregon: Abel ERSKINE, age 71, born Jun 1828, married 32 years, born ME, parents born England, a Farmer Hattie ERSKINE, wife, age 60, born May 1840, married 32 years, 1 child/1 living, born ME, parents born ME, a Post Master I am hoping to locate someone from this ERSKINE Family so that the photographs can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me. Thanks, Shelley

P.T. is my great-great grandfather. I have attached two articles from The Dalles Chronicle concerning P.T. Sharps death. The first article describes how he was found in his field apparently kicked by a mule. The second tells of his death and provides a brief history. You will have to zoom in on the text to read the articles. Search on Sharp to see where the articles are located on the page. How are you related to the Sharp Family? My mom, Joan Sharp is the daughter of Arthur J Sharp, son of Edward F Sharp, son of P.T. Sharp. My mom and her sister are only children of A.J. Sharp that are alive. I see that Ancestry does not accept PDF files as attachments. You will have to send me your email address outside of Ancestry to see the articles. Are you aware of where Jacob Sharp, P.T's father is buried? I have information on three Jacob Sharps' in a cemetery in upper New York. The Sharps listed and short descriptions fit the family history written by W.H. Sharp, another son of Jacob Sharp. The information below comes from documentation by Anne M. Cady. Apparently she inventoried all the headstones of the Pine Hill (Eel Weir) Cemetery, Oswegatchie, NY. Jacob Sharp, Settled at Sharp's Landing, Hudson River, 1684; Active in Trading (Section 3) Jacob Sharp 2nd, born 1763, pioneer settler, settled at Ogdensburg, 1812 (Section 3) John S. Sharp, born 1810 (Section 3) John H. Sharp, born 1843 (Section 3) Does this information fit anything you have documented?
