Born in Zurich, Switzerland, Mrs.. Stump came to America in 1914. She was a Madison resident or 25 years. Her husband, Ben, died in 1944. Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Parkin, 2030 E. Washington ave.; Mrs. Floyd Parkin, 324 N. Meadow lane; and Mrs. George Legler, New Glarus; one son, Frank, Exeland, Sawyer county; and one sister, Mrs. Ernest Matti, Milton Freewater, Ore. Another brother and a sister live in Switzerland. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Joyce funeral home, 540 W. Washington ave., after 2 p. m. Tuesday and until time of services. Funeral rites will be held Wednesday at 2 p. m. in the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth E. Whitney of Bashford Methodist Church here officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. WALLA WALLA UNION BULLETIN AUGUST 10, 1979 PAGE 10 Elisa Matti MILTON-FREEWATER - Elisa Matti, 87, of 405 Hafford St. died Thursday at the Elzora Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home in Milton-Freewater. Burial will follow at the Milton- Freewater Cemetery-. Rev. Richard Davidson of the First Christian Church will officiate. Mrs. Matti was bom in Switzerland on Oct. 5, 1891. She moved to Wisconson in 1909. She married Ernest Matti in Wisconson on July 15, 1915. They settled in Wisconson where her husband was a cheese maker. They moved to Milton-Freewater in 1945. Her husband died in 1972. Mrs. Matti was a member of the Methodist Church. She is survived by a son, Robert Matti of Milton-Freewater; three daughters, Emma Carson of Milton Freewater, Elsie Brewer of Westfir, Ore., and Gertrude Rider of Chippewa Falls, Wis.; one sister, Emma in Switzerland; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
