I've "rescued" two old autograph albums belonging to George H. MOTTINGER of Illinois. The albums contain entries from both family and friends dating from 1878 to 1883, including from George's brother Arthur L. MOTTINGER, his sister Ida MOTTINGER, and other ANGLEMIRE and BOPP Family members. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding George and his family: George Henry MOTTINGER was b. 16 Jul 1862 in Joliet, IL to parents Noah Daniel MOTTINGER (b. 10 Sept 1837 in Greensburg, OH-1921) and Mildred Rosette or Rosetta Lucyetta A. ANGLEMIRE or ANGLEMEIR (b. 7 Sept 1836 in Mt. Bethel, PA-1921). George was one of 5 children born to this couple including George Henry; Amy May; Arthur Lewis; Ida Belle; and Gertrude Estelle MOTTINGER, all born between 1863 and 1876. George was married more than once, first to Caroline KIMES, then Martha P. BOPP (1860-1909) and then after Martha's death to Olga E. WESTERMEYER (1881-1943). George died 14 Jul 1936 in Pasco, WA and is buried in the Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick, WA. His first wife Martha was b. 20 Sept 1860 in Hawkeye, IA to parents John Michael BOPP and Margaretha SCHMIDT. Martha and George married 28 Aug 1882 in Windsor, IA, later moving to the Dakotas and then to Walla Walla, WA in 1892. They moved into Umatilla, OR where they taught school for a few years and then decided on farming in Washington State. Martha died 14 May 1909 in Pendleton, OR where she was being treated for typhoid fever and is buried in the Hawkeye Cemetery in Hawkeye, IA. Arthur Lewis MOTTINGER was b. 20 Sept 1868 in DuPage Township, Will Co., IL to the same parents. Arthur married Lorena Algaretta "Retta" WEBB (1874-1937) and together they had three children, Neva Geraldine; Verna Algaretta; and Eugene Lewis MOTTINGER, all born between 1898 and 1912. Arthur also had a sister Gertrude Estelle MOTTINGER (1875-1959). Arthur was a VP at the Goodrich Rubber Company in Akron, OH and died 6 Oct 1935 in Akron, OH and is buried in the Highland Park Cemetery in Highland Hills, OH. Clara ANGLEMIRE was b. abt 1865 in IL to parents Emanuel ANGLEMIRE (b. 19 Jun 1810 in Northampton Co. PA) and Mary Anna DILLDINE. Elizabeth ANGELMIRE was b. 26 Oct 1866 in Plainfield, IL to the same parents and d. 2 Jul 1938 in Joliet, IL and is buried in the Naperville Cemetery in Naperville, IL.
