Dyer: Newspaper Obituary and Death Notice East Oregonian (Pendleton, OR) - Friday, March 7, 2003 Deceased Name: Mary E. Dyer Oct. 4, 1928-March 2, 2003 MILTON-FREEWATER -- A memorial service for Mary E. Dyer will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Umapine Seventh-day Adventist Church. Disposition was by cremation. Mrs. Dyer, 74, of Milton-Freewater, died Sunday, March 2, 2003, at Regency Care Center in College Place. She was born Oct. 4, 1928, at Taneyville, Mo., to William Henry Harding and Mary Esther Barrett Hutchinson. On March 2, 1949, she married Emmette M. Dyer at Walla Walla. The couple's 54th wedding anniversary was on the day of her death. Mrs. Dyer was a talented musician; she played the guitar, was an accomplished songwriter and a published poet. Survivors include her husband, at the home; sons, Daniel of Milton-Freewater, David, Dale and Lonny all of Walla Walla, and Billy of Medford; daughters, Lorrie Corn of Enumclaw, Wash., Bonnie McChesnie of Hope, Idaho, and Michele Dyer Wood of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her mother, Mary Bariel of Auburn, Wash.; her sister Sharon Bariel of Auburn; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions can be made to the Umapine Seventh-day Adventist Church through Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main St., Milton-Freewater, OR 97862.
