Sells Rites Tomorrow Funeral services for Mrs. Alice Howard Sells, former teacher and college dean, will be held at 11 o'clock tomorrow in Forkner's Chapel. Cremation will follow. Mrs. Sells died in a hospital yesterday after a brief illness. She had lived in the Seattle area permanently since 1940. She was the wife of John A. Sells, principal of the Van Asselt School. Mrs. Sells formerly was Assistant Dean of Women at the University of Maryland. Earlier she taught language arts at Bainbridge High School. She was born in Milton, Oregon and was graduated from Whitman College, Walla Walla. She took postgraduate studies at the University of Washington and received a Master's degree from Teachers College, Columbia University. Mrs. Sells was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority; Delta Kappa Gamma, education honorary; Nob Hill Circle of the Seattle Milk Fund; the Seattle Schoolmasters' Wives; the Bryant and Van Asselt Parent-Teacher Associations; the American Association of University Women and Christ Episcopal Church. She resided at 6838 32nd Avenue Northeast. Survivors besides Mr. Sells are a son, John A. Sells Jr., Seattle; two brothers, Martin Howard, Santa Rosa, California and Gilbert Howard, Salt Lake City; a sister, Mrs. Wilma Osborne, Salem, Oregon; her step-parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Steen, Milton and a half brother, William Howard, Bozeman, Montana.
