Hello Lister's, I have a picture of a Lillian Kinnear taken on a Horse in the early 1930's there with me on it as a small child with her. She baby sat me when i was little. I wonder if there are any descendants there who would like a copy etc. I also have some pictures taken at the Old Sandstone school , all boarded up last I saw, in Freewater. I was in 1st grade with a Miss Rental and 3rd grade with a Miss Van Slyke there in abt1933/4/5. I also went to Tum -a- Lum school and used to love the Giant Strikes or May Pole as it also was called. We lived in two end to end Mobil home style bldg's next to the people named RECORDS. at the edge of orchard with Prunes and other fruit. and an Irrigation ditch that crossed the road. There also was a Red Headed Lady who raised Watermelon's etc across the road by the ditch. We used to get us a Watermelon once in awhile but my parents gave us a spanking whenever they found out. You can smell watermellon on your hands and faces when little kids. There was also a Stewarts Peoney Farm there and one time some guys at WPA work gave my dad several drinks and got his 15.00 for Payment on the cow away from him and bought more. They brought him home in the back seat of theold 28 Chev (abt 1937) and had the whols back seat with him in it full of PEONEYS. He was pulling petals saying , SHE LOVES ME , SHE LOVES ME NOT . I can still see him today. I was about 9/10 yrs old. boy did my mom get them guys, made them give him the 15.00 etc. She took her shoe off and beat up my dad. Alvie Baldwin called SHORTIE.
