    3. Pat Kennedy here: A few years back I would spend time in the Hermiston library..to read the older HERMISTON HERALDS, when I was in Hermiston. Then found out that they are also housed at the Hermiston Herald newspaper office. All the newspapers, in nice binder books and at that time you went through the papers by date and could make copies. I'm not sure if that is still the rule, as it was really quite hard on the old newspapers. There is soooooo much family history in the older newspaper....ever one should take time and search for the families in newspapers.....in years gone by, ever thing was written up, from weddings, to who broke an arm. A lady. Lois Logan Masters....wrote a book in 1995 and I believe she work with film and compiled from the newspaper...on film. HERMISTON HERALD OBITUARIES Abstracts of obituaries from the Hermiston Herald with historical information on people, events and business in early Hermiston. And with a few selected OB from Stanfield Standard. I have a copy of this book. I have no ideal if it is still for sale.
