Graham was her husband. This Samuel Landis Caldwell, do you know where in OH. he was born???? Like what county?? Our local Family history center specializes in the 1850 census. Charles E. Graham was her husband. I do not do research in Pendleton, Oregon, as it is 40 miles from Walla Walla. Virginia Roberts, Blue Mountain Genealogical Society does research. If you go to the map below, click on Oregon, then go to Umatilla County, there is a link to the Society's web site. I really use this map a lot when searching USGenWeb sites as you can go to any state from the map below. I have not been to Pendleton to research, but understand they have microfilmed newspapers in the Pendleton Public Library. Virginia Roberts would be able to verify this information. It was very reasonable. One of my aunts told me that Putnam was buried at the Gurdane Cemetery where Samuel was buried, but when I got the probate file I found his remains had been sent to Iowa for burial. I have found a Samuel Caldwell, age 14, in Berlin Township, Mahoning County, Ohio, living with William Hartzel, Jr. and his family. So far, I have not been able to find Samuel on a census with his parents and siblings - My Brick Wall! I am happy the information was so helpful to you.
