Ruth, A transcription of the Athena cemetery "residents" is online at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/or/county/umatilla/athena_cemetery_index.htm I did a quick search of both that cemetery and the Blue Mountain (fomerly Kees) Cemetery that's only a few miles away and lies between Athena and Weston and did not find Charles P. Smith either place. A listing of Blue Mountain cemetery is online at http://www.bobg.org/kees_cem.htm . You probably should double-check me, though -- it could just be tired eyes.<g> The cemetery is still active. You might contact Athena City Hall (also online at http://www.jhmand.com/athena/athena-1.html to learn more about that cemetery (they were very helpful when I visited a few years ago), and the best contact I know for Blue Mountain Cemetery is Bob Gilliland ( [email protected] ).
