Surnames in Umatilla County I am searching for is the Beasley Family Pilot Rock, They were the owners of the Beasley Sawmill. On the 1870 Census they are listed in the Willow Creek Precinct. One of their children was born in 1867 in Oregon, listed as born at Beasley Saw Mill. Many of the family died in the 1878 Diphtheria Epidemic. The mill was burned down by Indians that same year but later. Sarah Catherine died 17 April 1878. William J. Beasley according to my information died 27 May 1878, I am not sure of this though. Only one daughter lived through this epidemic. I would really like to know where that saw mill was located. I will be in Pilot Rock this Saturday and hope to locate the grave of My great Aunt Sarah Pruner Beasley. Any help greatly appreciated. Shirley Combs
