Days gone by 100 years ago today Weston- Last Sunday evening closed a series of revival efforts in the First Baptist Church. The services were conducted by Miss Carrie Millspaugh, young people's and women's missionary for the state; Rev. T.M. Paterson,of Pendleton; Rev. C. P. Bailey, missionary for Eastern Oregon; and Rev. Alex Blackburn of Portland, aided by the ministers of the town. 50 years ago today Hermiston - Voters here approved a $350,000 sewer 295 to 11 in an election Tuesday. The new sewer will be adequate till the town reaches a population of 10,000. Present population is 3,500. The old sewer was built when there were only 900 people in Hermiston and at that time no one dreamed that Hermiston would grow to its present proportions. 25 years ago today Umatilla County Jail inmates now have a dining hall according to Umatilla County Sheriff Bill McPherson. McPherson said the facility was instituted Wednesday during the noon meal. the dining hall allows prisoners a chance to leave their cells during meals and McPherson said he thought it would also cut down on the time needed to serve meals to prisoners. The only ones not allowed out of their cells during meal times are the prisoners confined to maximum security. CLARK, FISHER, LAY,
