They have received word from the Heppner team that 35 tickets have already been disposed of to Heppner people who will come to Pendleton to see the game, and they have no doubt but that the number will be swelled to 50. A special car has been engaged, and there will be enough come to comfortably fill it. 50 years ago today The city stepped into high gear today to annex the city owned airport property before the April 1 census deadline. Contacts were started with property owners lying between the city limits and the airport for annexation consent. The city needs a broad, continuous path of property owners to connect the airport with the city. All property owners in the corridor must sign for annexation. 25 years ago today The Heart Fund received $275 from Pendleton High school students Friday. The money was raised during voting for the sweetheart court last week. Marla Hajek, treasurer of Quill and Scroll, sponsors of the annual event, presented the contribution to John Segerstom, Pendleton Heart Fund chairman, at the Pendleton-Bend basketball game. Four students were announced as the sweetheart court. Cyndi Cruz was crowned queen, Paul Patton king; Pam Johnston princess; and Matt Comrie prince.
