Lewis, 61, Milton-Freewater, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 1985, at his home. Lewis was born Dec. 5, 1923 at Smethport, N.C., the son of Jesse and Rhody (Manuel) Lewis. He attended school and was raised in West Jefferson, N.C. He served in the U.S. Army.
