According to her death certificate and second marriage record, my ancestor Callie Donia ANDREWS was born in Umatilla, Oregon Jan 20, 1888. Her parents were Henry A. and Josie ANDREWS. They were parents to several more children, all of whom were apparently born in Missouri, some before and some after Callie's birth. I don't know why they were in Oregon or what his profession was. I know they were quite poor, probably farmers. Callie's daughter has searched for newspaper announcements in the Oregon papers, and our letters to the county have been bouncing off the "no birth records at that time" wall. I suspect the Andrews family were church-going Christians of unknown denomination. I would like to know how to search Umatilla church records for 1888. Thanks for any help.
