hi Maxine. I have no Curl-Rook-Reaves connection in my files but am always open to surprises!. All I have on the Frazier side is Jiney A. Frazier's father was a J.T. Frazier and her mother Allie Graham. There are however children of Jiney and Wm. Clarence Curl, believed to be/have been: Albert, Vina, Robert, Alice, Anne and Jessie. I have nothing at all on them as yet. Wm. Clarence's 2nd wife was Bernice Collins and there are children from this union. The family had a presence in Canyon City as well. The grandfather is well known Bartlett W. Curl . Long Creek is about 75 to 80 miles South of Pendleton Oregon. Milton is North East of Pendleton about 40 miles. Milton is now called Milton Freewater. Cause the two towns have now become one. Long Creek, Grant County, Oregon is in (I guess you could call it) Mid-Eastern Oregon. Here is a link to an Oregon Map. http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/reference/maps/freeimages.asp?ImageID =37 Long Creek is 32 miles NNW of Canyon City. It is a very small town of about 500 people. Give or take a few. It is very pretty up there! :) We used to drive through there all the time on our trips over and through the woods to Grandma's house. :) Heidi ----- Original Message ----- From: "pbridgewater" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, June 20, 2002 9:26 PM Subject: [ORUMATIL] Jennie (Frazier) Curl > I,m taking a chance that this query as to Jennie's husband has not been > answered previously. I,m taking a chance that this query as to Jennie's husband has not been answered previously. If it has, my apologies for redundancy. FHC microfilm 1598480 has a marvelous collection of obituary information for NE Umatilla Co. and SE Washington compiled from records of Garland Wilson who also compiled those marvelous cemetery records for Umatilla Co. 1913 CURL, Jennie Anna, age 32, died from pneumonia 17 June at Milton, OR; buried Milton, OR; born 1881 nee Frazier; married Wm. Will someone please tell me in which Pendleton cemetery I'll be most likely find a patient who died in 1947? According to the death certificate it appears EOSH made the arrangements. I believe there was a recent discussion on the subject on this list but I didn't keep the information. At the time I had no idea I would ever need it. Thanks, Sally

Very urgent. - David From: "Juliana Smith" Date: 18 May 2002 10:10:26 -0600 I am currently attending the NGS Conference in Milwaukee and we have received word that California is moving forward quickly in its move to close access to the index of birth and death records and will be meeting Monday morning at 9:30 am for a hearing on the bill. I am copying a message below with details of the legislation and contact information for California legislators form the Appropriation Committee. Please let our voices be heard on this issue. If closed, it will set a precedent and it is likely that other states will follow suit. It is particularly important that California voters voice their opinions. Please pass this important message on to other lists as well. With best wishes, Juliana Smith Editor, Ancestry Daily News [email protected] -------- Original Message -------- Subject: LEG MAY 17, 2002 REPORT Date: Fri, 17 May 2002 14:13:55 -0700 From: Iris Jones <[email protected]> MAY 17, 2002 - SENATE BILL 1614 UPDATE While I subscribe the SB1614, since my last report on May 15, 2002, I have checked the activity daily. As of late last night there was no change. This morning I find that the bill has been scheduled to be heard before the Appropriations Committee at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 20, 2002. There are also new amendments. The bill requires the comprehensive index of birth and death record indexes be kept confidential. It will be available to some government agencies, but the information is require to maintain confidentiality. The copies of Indexes sold prior to 31 December to 3rd parties will require that the information remain confidential under penalty of law. It requires the State Registrar to establish a separate noncomprehensive electronic indices which will be electronically available to county recorders. But the public may only view these noncomprehensive indexes at the State or county on computer terminals designated for this purpose. Obviously, between now and 9:30 a.m. on Monday morning leaves little time for action. I am going to send my letter of objections to the author, the Governor and members of the Appropriation Committee who have fax Email numbers available. I would like to thank people who have responded to my post. The Lizzie Fountain White Mansfield that I am looking for death date & place of burial was born in Boone county, Missouri, June 30, 1846, a daughter of Mathew and Sarah (Hicks) Fountain. Her 1st married name was White, she was widowed in 1882. She married Francis M. Mansfield of Weston September 25, 1887. Frank Mansfield died Friday, April 7, 1911. Aunt Lizzie survived him, so her death date would be later than that. Unfortunately she is not on the Oregon Death Index, but do believe that her death is recorded in the county death register, now housed at the Oregon State Archives. However, as it is not indexed, they were not able to find it. Someone replied with information on Elizabeth Mansfield, 1796-1884: She was the mother of Frank Mansfield. Thank you all for any help.
