Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb In light of this, new list is up and running as consolidated list with other counties included. https://groups.io/g/Oregon-Genealogy Scroll down to blue tag "Join this Group" Groups.io was developed by the man and his team, who originally developed what is now Yahoogroups, but Verizon bought him out and already driven out many groups along with wipeout of their archives. People who developed Groups.io also included those originally from Google Groups. Best all around per Dick Eastman in his write up https://blog.eogn.com/2020/01/10/groups-io-the-do-it-yourself-replacement-for-disappearing-message-boards-and-mailing-lists/ David Samuelsen
Hello all Polk Co Researchers. I am Gayle Triller the administrator of this list and the CC for Polk Co GenWeb. As some of you may have heard Ancestry is shutting down all of the Rootsweb mailing lists. I have created a new list and am getting ready to send you all invites to join the new list. Over the past year or so the Rootsweb lists have been offline for months at a time with our new list I am hoping that we will have renewed interest and the list will become more active than it has been in the past couple of years. Gayle
