Julie, Your suggestion was a good one! I did exactly as you said and got some information from the cemetery, including the name of the funeral home (Little Chapel of Chimes in Portland). I called them and they provided me with a wealth of important information, most notably birthplace of my grandfather, name of his parents, and their birthplace. This really opens up my tree so that I can research further. I found out my great-grandfather was born in Scotland. Both the cemetery and funeral home were very, very helpful. And, I didn't have to spend a dime (except for the l/d calls) or wait for the mails to arrive. Thanks so much. Obviously, no further lookups are needed as I found what I needed.
