I am hoping that someone can add to the info I have below on the family of Isaac HILL. Isaac was the eldest son of Daniel Webster Hill. About 1854 Isaac's parents moved the family from Putnam Co., W Va to Wayne County, Iowa. The family moved again in 1862 from Iowa to Multnomah Co., OR. Isaac and Mary moved to Oregon in 1862, probably with Isaac's parents. In 1869 he acquired 165 acres in NE Portland under the Homestead Act. He paid $1.25 per acre. His land was bordered by current day 37th, 47th, Killingsworth and Prescott. He was an active member of the Centenary Methodist Church. During the years 1882-1888 he and Mary sold much of their land for $40. per acre.
