Hi, I am working on my BINGMAN/BINGAMAN line. I have a Stephen Girard BINGMAN/BINGAMAN married to Dora Fowler in Salem, Oregon, but also lived in Portland. By 1920 they were divorced. There were 2 children: Fred (born November 1898) and a daughter (born October 1895). I found them in the 1900 and 1920 census which are difficult to read. Her name looks like Wilhelm or Nilhelm. In the 1920 census for Portland she appears as an actress in a musical comedy, but how big a part she played, I do not know. Since I live in Pennsylvania it is difficult to access resources in Oregon. I was wondering if anyone had any clues where to find informtion about this young woman (she was 22 in 1920). No doubt Portland had many musical comedies at the time. Might there be play bills, or advertisements in newspapers. I do not have a clue where to begin. I want to verify her name. Is there somewhere in Portland that has an archives for theater? Or is an historical society the place to contact? Thank you for any help and suggestions. Sidney
