Hi-- Does anyone have any information about a Judge Fee who would have been a Judge--probably in Portland, Oregon in 1937 and 1938? Julie was kind enough to tell me about an Oregonian newspaper article about my grandfather-Ralph A. Mainwaring--dated Dec. 8, 1937. It was titled "Man Without a Country" and noted that although my grandfather had lived in the US--mostly Portland, for 49 of his 50 years--and had been a Portland Policeman, etc--it was learned that he was not a US citizen. He was a baby when his parents came from Canada and he always had thought he was a citizen. Anyway----------A Judge Fee was to grand my grandfather citizenship on Feb. 17, 1938. I am just hoping to add a bit more to my story--Can you imagine what that must have been like? To suddenly discover that you were not a US citizen? Any info is much appreciated--Thank you--Linda :)
